From Sydney to Tumut

Take the Hume Highway south, through Goulburn, Yass and toward Gundagai. When arriving at Gundagai bypass the first two exits cross the bridge and take the South Gundagai/Tumut exit with the Shell Service Station.

Travel time approx 41/2 to 5 hours.

From Melbourne to Tumut

Take the Hume Highway north to Albury approx. 3 1/2 hours. Travel through Albury and continue along the Hume Highway through to Holbrook and Tarcutta, then take the Adelong & Tumut turn off approx 20kms north of Tarcutta.

Travel time approx 5-5 1/2 hours.

From Canberra to Tumut

Travel the Barton Highway to Yass. On reaching the outskirts of Yass take the by-pass to Gundagai which joins up with the Hume Highway.

Travel time approx 2- 21/2 hours.

From Tumut

On reaching Tumut continue along the Snowy Mountains highway towards Cooma, passing the City Centre of Tumut and the sports ground. Take a left hand turn into Tumut Plains Road (BP on right) and after crossing a one lane heritage bridge, then another small bridge,  take the next left into Little River Road. Travel 7.2 km's to the river. Take a  right at the gate and travel along the dirt road for 1.5 km's. Well sign posted. Take first left past shearing shed. On entering right of way to the property open the double gates (and close) and continue to next gate. You are now on Elm Cottage.
